2018 Winner: Aspirus and Medline

  • The Aspirus and Medline teams worked collaboratively with GHX throughout 2018 to increase automation and reduce purchase order (PO) errors. Through this work, Medline increased its GHX Exchange transaction volume by 8 percent month-over-month, and Aspirus climbed the GHX Best 50 ranking from #30 in 2017 to #14 in 2018.
  • Aspirus and Medline identified rounding issues that caused pricing errors requiring both teams to spend unnecessary resources/hours correcting fractions of penny discrepancies. Aspirus updated pricing in its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system from five digits to two digits, improving the pricing number error rate by 96 percent, and saving both parties significant time and money.
  • The trading partners were able to identify unit of measure (UOM) abbreviation differences between ERP systems, and come to a resolution to handle differences within future transactions, improving their UOM error rate by 63 percent. Through improved communication around product conversions, they also improved their part number error rate by 54 percent.
